Mark Foxley from Town Centre Management said "TCM have been out everyday since (and including) Boxing Day supporting businesses in the Town Centre. Partnership working has been excellent and despite the situation spirits have remained high. The unfortunate flooding of the Town Centre has strengthened the business community and further improved relationships between the council, partners, and agencies.
"The council have been very supportive and made emergency payments of £500 to businesses. They also awarded three month’s business rate relief for those businesses affected by flood water. In addition there’s now an offer of a further grant scheme for small and medium sized businesses. It's designed to help those businesses that have suffered direct damage to premises and equipment to recover quickly and provide a boost to get businesses trading.
