Business benefits – half marathon, 10K and fun run sets team challenge

RALLY YOUR COLLEAGUES: Williams BMW Rochdale Half Marathon, 10K and Fun Run have confirmed a corporate deal for businesses wanting to take part.

Looking to enter you and your team into Williams BMW Rochdale Half Marathon, 10K or Fun Run this September?  The organisers of the event have just announced details of their corporate package that enable a company to pay for and administer entries for staff.  For every ten entries you’ll also get a free place, and event organiser John Lloyd said it’s a great way to promote health and wellbeing in the workplace:

“Last year we had quite a few organisations taking part so we’ve made it a little easier this year to help with company fundraising and team building.  Running alongside your workmates can be a lot of fun and this is a great way to inspire a workplace, set a challenge and motivate employees to be active and take part in this great event.  It could even be an opportunity for some healthy industry competition between rival companies!”

On Sunday 25 September runners will get on their marks by Rochdale Town Hall and set out on traffic-free courses taking in town and countryside, including a stunning new section around Hollingworth Lake.

The half marathon leaves the town hall along Entwisle Road, before heading towards Smithy Bridge down the canal towpath. Close to the Waterside Restaurant, the route leaves the tow path and heads down Hollingworth Road towards Hollingworth Lake, follows the edge of the lake and goes up Rakewood Road before turning round and following the other half of the lake. The route continues back down the canal, leaving close to Gordon Rigg Garden Centre and back down Entwisle Road to the town hall.

The 10K event heads up Newgate before returning and following the half marathon route along Entwisle Road. It continues down Belfield Lane to Milnrow Road. From here the route heads down Grafton Street and Crawford Street towards the canal towpath which it follows until it reaches Waithlands Road where it follows back to the town hall.

The fun run heads out from the town hall along Baillie Street and turns just before the crossroad on Smith Street.

Williams BMW Rochdale Half Marathon, 10K and Fun Run is organised by Cannonball Events, supported by Rochdale Borough Council.
