Runners ready to run Rochdale!

ON YOUR MARKS: Over 1,000 runners have already registered and remaining places are filling up fast.

With just over a week to go before Rochdale half marathon, 10K and fun run, runners are being reminded to save time and money by entering online before Saturday 22 August.

Entries will be available on the day for £20 (non-club runners) or £18 (club runners) for the 10K, and for £28 (non-club runners) or £26 (club runners) for the half marathon. You can avoid the queues and save £4 on the 10k or half marathon by registering online by 10pm on Saturday 22 August.

The fun run is £4 and no on-the-day entry is available. On-the-day registration is from 7am on Sunday 23 August at Rochdale Town Hall.

Over 1,000 runners have already registered and remaining places are filling up fast.

The 10K route leaves the Esplanade along Entwisle Road, before heading towards Milnrow via Albert Royds Street. It then heads up Buckley Hill Lane, turning near its end before returning to the Town Hall.  The half marathon does the same route except the turning point is by Kingsway Business Park and is a two-lap course. The fun run is a flat one-mile course that heads out along Entwisle Road and turns back just after Rochdale Leisure Centre.

The traffic-free courses have some good straight sections and are reasonably flat, making them relatively fast. There are over £2,800 of prizes available including cash for the first 3 men and women in the Half Marathon and 10K, plus bonus time related prizes.

Those that have already entered can collect race numbers on Saturday 22 August at Number One Riverside, Smith Street in Rochdale from 10am-4pm.  New entries are also being taken there on the Saturday.  Numbers can also be collected on race day from Rochdale Town Hall from 7am to 8.30am.
