Tetrosyl has become the first major sponsor of Rochdale Town Centre In Bloom for 2017.
Marketing Director Tracey Bolger presented vice-chairman of In Bloom, Roy Down, with a cheque for £1,500 outside Tetrosyl premises near the picturesque Memorial Gardens. Mark Foxley of Rochdale Town Centre Management was also in attendance.
Ms Bolger said: “Tetrosyl are proud to be sponsors of In Bloom and be involved in the local community.”
The car care manufacturer moved offices to Newgate in the town centre in September 2016.
Mr Down said: “To have a sponsor on board with the stature of Tetrosyl is fantastic. Their offices are right here in the centre of town and supporting In Bloom is an ideal partnership, one which will grow and grow together.”
Chairman Nigel Morell said: “Everyone involved with In Bloom hopes this will mark the beginning of a fruitful and lasting partnership, which should work to the mutual advantage of the people of Rochdale and the new employer.
“We are all delighted with their involvement.”
Mr Foxley said: “Many thanks indeed to Tetrosyl, we are delighted to have them as partners and on board as our first Town Centre In Bloom sponsor.”
This will be the second year for the Rochdale Town Centre In Bloom category. Last year, The Flying Horse Hotel became the first winner of the Rochdale Town Centre In Bloom Award in the Best Small Accommodation category.
A fantastic team effort saw Rochdale gain several awards for the North West In Bloom Awards 2016. The town centre won a Silver Gilt Award in the inaugural Town Centre Award category, ‘Revealing the Roch’ won the North West Heritage Award and the Rochdale Township entry won gold for the first time in five years.
North West in Bloom is the voluntary regional organisation that administers the Britain in Bloom competition in Lancashire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside, one of the 18 regions comprising Britain in Bloom.
Since 1964, the Royal Horticultural Society’s Britain in Bloom is one of the most effective, and longest running environmental competitions in the UK, with communities demonstrating their ability to create and maintain attractive environments that benefit all.
From the mill towns of Lancashire to the picturesque villages of both Cheshire and the Lancashire coast, every city, town, urban community and village is eligible to enter. The aim of the competition is to encourage the improvement of our surroundings through the imaginative use of trees, shrubs, flowers and landscaping. It also aims to achieve a litter free and sustainable environment.
Judges will visit Rochdale on 1 August.
